St. Croix woman charged in connection with woman’s stabbing in Whim

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix woman was charged in connection with a woman who was hospitalized after a stabbing early Tuesday morning, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Angela Nelson, 33, of Estate Whim, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, according to the VIPD.

The case began at 2:34 a.m. on March 25, when patrol units were dispatched to investigate a reported stabbing in Estate Whim, police said.

Responding officers contacted the victim, who stated that he was stabbed on the right and left side of
his upper back by Angela Nelson, according to police.

EMS was requested and arrived at the scene, police said.

Paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim, who was subsequently transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment.

Nelson was arrested at her residence on March 25, 2025, according to police.

The suspect was transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command for booking and processing.

Bail for Nelson was set at $25,000.00. Unable to post bail, she was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Golden Grove.

Nelson is scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing in Superior Court.
