CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police arrested a man suspected of breaking a window at the McDonald’s in Lockhart Gardens on St. Thomas, authorities said.
Allen Springette was arrested and charged with destruction of property and unlawful entry, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
On Friday, October 31, 2025, at about 4:20 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched a patrol officer to the McDonald’s Restaurant in Lockhart Garden to investigate a damaged window, according to the VIPD.

The responding officer interviewed a security guard employed by Genesis Security who stated that upon his arrival he observed the glass window on the northern side of the building was shattered, police said.
The security guard also stated that the suspect was not inside the restaurant at the time of his inspection, according to police.
He said that the suspect, Allen Springette, was observed via security camera surveillance, breaking the glass with a rock, entering the business, sweeping the floor with a broom, exiting the business through the same broken window and leaving the area, police said.
The officer did not make contact with the suspect upon his initial arrival on scene and was later called back to Lockhart Garden where contact was made with the suspect who was sleeping on the ground in front of the Foot Locker store, according to police.
Springette was advised of his constitutional rights, taken into official custody and transported to the Zone A, Richard Callwood Command where he was booked and processed.
His bail was set at $25,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the St. Thomas jail.
Springette is schedule for an advice-of-rights hearing at the Superior Court in Charlotte Amalie.
