CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man faces an assault charge for going to a victim’s place of work and striking him on the head with a construction tool.
Max Cadet, 45, was arrested Sunday and charged with third-degree assault, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Responding officers were dispatched to an assault in Estate Tutu at 11:07 p.m. Saturday, according to the VIPD.

The victim “identified Max Cadet as the person who assaulted him at his place of work and struck him on the top of his head with a level, causing a large laceration to his head,” police said.
Cadet was taken into official custody and transported to the Richard N. Callwood Police Central Command where he was booked and processed.
Cadet’s bail was set at $26,500.00. Unable to post bail, he was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the St. Thomas jail.
The suspect is scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing at the Superior Court in Charlotte Amalie.
