HARTFORD — Hip hop artist Kamaiyah was arrested today after state police say she unleashed a tirade with vulgar language at a trooper and a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent going through security at Bradley International Airport.

Kamaiyah Johnson, of Marina Delray, Calif., was charged with interfering with an officer and second-degree breach of peace, state police said.

Troopers assigned to the airport were called to the security lines just after 6 a.m. for reports of a passenger refusing to follow TSA instructions.

When they arrived, the troopers were told that Kamaiyah had refused to remove a head cover that set off the alarm, state police said.

They pulled Johnson aside and she again refused to remove her “head gear,” state police said in an arrest report.

TSA agents told if she did not allow them to inspect it, she would not be allowed to fly, the report read.

Troopers said that Kamaiyah then launched into a tirade of vulgar language at police and TSA agents. When she was asked to leave, she refused and state police said she continued to be aggresive with “her language and body posture.”

State police said she was taken into custody, but continued the tirade and was resisting troopers.

She was taken from the terminal and booked at Troop W in Windsor Locks, Conn.

Kamaiyah, earlier this year, was featured in a prominent Sprite commercial with basketball star LeBron James.

She posted $5,000 bail and was told to appear in Superior Court in Enfield, Conn. on June 6, state police said.
