[ad name=”HTML-68″] [wpedon id=”23995″ align=”left”]CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St.. Thomas woman told police that her boyfriend came home drunk and beat her with a baseball bat last week.
John Petersen, 63, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault-domestic violence at about 9:45 a.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Police said the Domestic Violence Unit was called to investigate the injured woman at the Schneider Regional Medical Center about 10:30 p.m. on August 5.
The woman told police at the hospital that Petersen came home intoxicated and assaulted her with a baseball bat causing injuries in her forearm and her torso area, according to the VIPD.
The VIPD said Petersen was advised of his Constitutional Rights and placed under arrest today.
He was booked, processed and remanded to custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice of rights hearing.
No bail was set as per Domestic Violence Statute.
