CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Four of 11 cars stolen from Avis Car Rental on St. Thomas Friday night have been recovered by police, but authorities say they need your help tonight to find the other seven still missing.
Avis Car Rental at Cyril E. King Airport reported that 11 rental vehicles were missing from its Charlotte Amalie West parking lot about 7:15 p.m. on Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The report stated that the access gate was secured by an employee the night before,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The following morning, several vehicles were discovered missing from the business parking lot.”
The VIPD said has located four vehicles stolen from the rental agency and continues its investigation of the additional missing vehicles, but could use your help to find the cars that are still missing.
Those vehicles still missing from Avis Car Rental are:
- 2017 White Kia Forte with tag number TFO-769
- 2017 Silver Ford Escape with tag number TFG-570
- 2019 White Nissan Sentra with tag number TGL-731
- 2017 Tan Kia Sedona with tag number TFC-194
- 2017 Beige Jeep Wrangler with tag number TFU-894
- 2019 Red/Auburn Nissan Versa with tag number TGJ-934
- 2019 White Jeep Grand Cherokee with tag number TGJ-464
The missing vehicles were from 2016 to 2019 model years, according to police.
This case is currently under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).
