Man Taking Tools Out Of His Vehicle For Work Held Up At Gunpoint By 3 Men: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man taking tools out of his vehicle for work was held up at gunpoint in Savan early on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report that a first-degree robbery occurred in upper Savan before 6:33 a.m. Tuesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The initial report states that the victim was at his residence retrieving tools out of his vehicle when three unknown males, dressed in black with masks over their faces and what appeared to be firearms, approached him and demanded that he give them everything he had,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The suspects took the victim’s money and fled the area in an unknown direction.”

This case is currently under active investigation by police.
