CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two St. Thomas men were arrested by police for allegedly trying to sell drugs near a public school, authorities said.
Umba Delsol, 28 of Anna’s Retreat and Junior Akimo Freeman, 35 of Hospital Ground were each arresed about 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday and charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Freeman and Delsol were each in the Hospital Ground area, where they were found in possession of a controlled substance, VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
The men were then arrested by the VIPD’s Special Operations Bureau, according to Derima.
Bail for Delsol and Freeman were set at $10,000 each. Unable to post bail, each man was turned over to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending advice-of-rights hearings.
