Ganja Accessories Store Owner Fights Off 2 St. Thomas Men In Robbery Attempt: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A marijuana accessories store owner fought off two St. Thomas men trying to rob him as he was trying to open his store on Wednesday, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Baly’s Hemp World VI, located in Smith Bay, in reference to a robbery at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The victim reported that two armed male suspects attempted to rob him as he was opening the business for the day,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim stated that a physical altercation ensued between him and the suspects, and they subsequently fled the area in an eastward direction.”

The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident but did not require medical treatment, according to Derima.

This case is currently under active investigation.
