FREDERIKSTED — Police are investigating a robbery of a restaurant in Mount Pleasant West which two men left with the cash register, authorities said.
The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to a robbery in progress at Crucian Wings in Mount Pleasant about 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The cashier at the restaurant observed two unknown armed male individuals dressed in all black, wearing masks and gloves, enter the business,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “She was able to leave the restaurant and go to a nearby gas station to call for help.”
The suspects grabbed another employee and attempted to get her to open the cash register, but she was unable to, Derima said.
The suspects took the cash register and fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
This case is being actively investigated at this time.
