Smithfield Woman Accused Of Choking Her Boyfriend On Sunday Morning: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — An Estate Smithfield woman is in official custody after being arrested on domestic violence related charges on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Eva Moorhead, 39, is accused of choked her male companion, the Virgin Islands Police Department said..

Police were dispatched to Estate Smithfield for a domestic disturbance at 7:44 a.m. Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Moorhead was placed under arrest as a result, charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence, according to the VIPD.

Bail was not offered to Moorhead, according to the territory’s domestic violence laws.

She was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections(BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
