3 Masked, Armed Men Enter Bovoni House By Force And Take Cash From Homeowner

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Three masked, armed men entered a home in Estate Bovoni by force and demanded cash from the homeowner at 8:49 p.m. Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The owner of the residence informed police his home was invaded by three Black males, who allegedly entered the residence through the front door with firearms and threatened a resident at gunpoint,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The burglars removed cash from a bedroom and fled the residence.”

The suspects were described as being medium- to dark-complexion, medium build and about 5-feet 4-inches to 5-feet 6-inches tall, the VIPD said.

All three were wearing black clothing and masks, according to Derima.

The VIPD is urging anyone having any information about this crime to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 714-9801, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.

Meanwhile, readers of the Virgin Islands Free Press said on social media that they were shocked to hear the news of the home invasion in Estate Bovoni.

“I think the local PD officers are overwhelmed with the amount of crime,” Tetyana Hayes said from St. Thomas. “Perhaps they need to involve citizens with guns and form a militia.”
