FREDERIKSTED — Police have taken a security guard accused of recklessly discharging a firearm in Mount Pleasant West into official custody, authorities said.
Tony “Big T” Elizee, 37, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Friday and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and other related illegal firearm-related charges, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Elizee voluntarily surrendered to police and was booked after being advised of his Miranda rights.
His bail was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
The news of Elizee’s arrest was posted to Twitter by the VIPD at 7:02 a.m. today.
