Man Who Stole Child From Mother Wanted For Burglary; Considered Armed, Dangerous

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man who allegedly took possession of his child without the court’s permission is wanted by police.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau, Domestic Violence Unit is looking for Malik Rohlsen. Rohlsen, 23, is wanted for first-degree burglary-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

On Saturday April 16, 2022, the CIB Detectives responded to a call from 911 Emergency Call Center at 8:41 a.m., vicinity of Breezewood Villas, Estate Concordia, Frederiksted, where a father took a child without the mother’s permission, according to the VIPD.

“Rolhsen damaged the screen door that was locked and entered the victim’s apartment without her permission and threatened to kill her,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said. “The suspect was located at his residence and his mother assisted in retrieving the baby, however Malik Rohlsen evaded the police.”   

Malik Rohlsen is a Black male with brown eyes, black hair, a light complexion and a slim build. He stands 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds.
