1 Woman, 1 Man Shot At ‘Tsunami’ Dance Party In La Reine

KINGSHILL — At least two people were injured early Sunday when gunfire broke out at a “Tsunami” dance party being held in a parking lot at mid-island St. Croix.

The 911 emergency dispatcher sent units to investigate a shooting at 1:46 a.m. today that happened at a dance party event held at the La Reine Shopping Center in Kingshill, the Virgin Islands Police Department said. 

An adult female victim was transported by ambulance and an adult male victim was transported by private vehicle to the Juan F. Luis Hospital, according to the VIPD.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that shots were discharged during the event striking both victims,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said. “The male victim suffered a non-fatal single gunshot wound to his upper right shoulder and remains in stable condition. The female victim sustained one single gunshot wound to her chin and is in critical condition.” 

This shooting incident is currently under active investigation.
