Man Who Punched, Kicked, Choked and Hit Woman With A Rock Arrested By Police

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man who allegedly threatened a woman with a knife, punched her, kicked her, choked her and hit her with a rock — was arrested on multiple domestic violence related charges.

Bryan Christopher Jr., 23, of Estate Contant, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence, third-degree assault-domestic violence, simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Christopher allegedly “assaulted a former acquaintance by slapping, punching, and kicking her multiple times about the body causing injury,” according to the VIPD. 

“Investigation further revealed that Mr. Christopher choked the victim during the altercation and threatened her with a knife,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said. “While the victim attempted to flee Mr. Christopher struck her with a rock on her right shoulder”.

No bail was granted as per the territory’s domestic violence laws. Christopher was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing. 

This case is currently under active investigation by the Domestic Violence Unit/CIB
