CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A teen-aged girl was assaulted by an adult female at Oswald Harris Court on Sunday, according to police.

The girl, 13, told police that the woman put her fingers around her neck and began choking her, police sources said.

The incident took place about 7:30 p.m. and the minor who was attacked was about to fight the suspect’s daughter, when the mother jumped into the fray and began choking the girl.

The injured girl was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment of the injuries to her neck.

In other St. Thomas crime news, a woman told police she was in her apartment on Adel Gade when the power went off inside about 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The woman said she could tell it had been turned off from outside her apartment and when she went to the fuse box she saw a black man pointing a handgun at her.

As the suspect began moving towards her, the woman quickly went back into her apartment and locked the door.

Her attacker immediately fled the area, according to the woman. She told authorities that she wasn’t injured during the incident.

Police said the suspect did not steal anything while he was there.
