CRUZ BAY — A partially-decomposed body found on St. John eight days ago has been identified as the remains of missing man Mark Moroney.

Moroney, 70, reportedly disappeared during a Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) power outage on Feb. 11 that affected St. Thomas and St. John.

Police said that Moroney’s body was discovered in a steep and heavily-wooded area of Chocolate Hole covered with casha bush.

Moroney was a world-famous attorney from the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. He told family members during the WAPA outage that he was going outside to get a flashlight.

Police investigators say that they have ruled out foul play in the incident.

Known for leaning out of doorless helicopters to capture the "money shot," McCarthy now edits the V.I. Free Press, providing the essential link between the island's colonial past and its SpaceX future.
