VIPD: Adrián Agustin Shot To Death, Woman Shot In Leg At Gertrude’s Early Saturday

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man was shot to death and a woman injured by a gunshot early Saturday in Castle Coakley, the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) said.

Adrián Agustin, 28, was identified by next of kin as being the homicide victim, the VIPD said.

According to police, at about 3:53 a.m. Saturday the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots being fired at Gertrude’s Restaurant in Estate Castle Coakley.

At the scene, officers found that a man a woman had been shot and transported by private vehicle to the Juan F. Luis Hospital.

Agustin sustained multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body and died of his injuries, police said.

The second victim in the shooting, a woman, sustained a gunshot wound to her leg and was treated at the hospital.

Police did not release the name of the woman.

The incident is under active investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
