CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police on St. Thomas say they are investigating a non-fatal shooting that happened in Estate Bovoni-Nadir Tuesday morning.

According to police, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report at 9:48 a.m. Tuesday of a man being treated for a gunshot wound at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.

“Officers were dispatched to the hospital to investigate the incident and spoke to a male victim who had sustained gunshot injuries to both legs,” a police source said.

The victim told police that he was in the area of Brookman Road when he heard several gunshots fired and realized he had been shot.

The man told police investigators that he did not see who fired the shot and could not tell from which direction they came.

The police source said police do not know if the injured man was targeted for the shooting or simply injured by a stray bullet. He was treated for two gunshot wounds to the right shin and a single gunshot would to the left foot.

Brookman Road is officially known as Brookman Walk and is located in Estate Bovoni at the intersection of Nadir.
