St. Thomas Man Found Shot To Death In His Car in Lilliendahl This Morning

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police said a St. Thomas man was found shot to death inside his vehicle in Lilliendahl early this morning.

A concerned citizen called the 911 Emergency Call Center at about 7:17 a.m. to report that multiple shots fired in the area of Lilliendahl and Marienhoj along the roadway. 

When police arrived on the scene they found a grey four-door Honda Civic in the roadway with the engine running with multiple bullet holes in the vehicle, the V.I. Police Department said.

Further inspection revealed an unresponsive male sitting behind the steering wheel with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the  body, according to the VIPD.

EMTs arrived on the scene and could detect no vital signs on the man.

The victim has not been identified by police pending contact with next of kin. 

Police said the shooting death is under active investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.
