DPW and VIPD Say East Airport Road Will Be Closed Starting Tomorrow Morning

FREDERIKSTED — The Public Works Department has scheduled a road closure for tomorrow morning at the East Airport Road intersection.

DPW will be closing the road to westbound traffic to complete some additional paving at the Paradise traffic light intersection.

Traffic will also be blocked at the Patrick Sweeney Drive intersection (westbound). Public Works will only be allowing traffic to cross into the Industrial Park.

The road closing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until completed, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Through traffic will be rerouted to the Queen Mary Highway or the East Airport Road traveling around the airport to continue westbound.

The VIPD Traffic Division is advising the motoring public to give yourself extra travel time to take the alternate routes without speeding to reach your destination on time.

The Public Works Department, and the VIPD said they extend their sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that will be caused to motorists by the work in progress.
