Drought Conditions Begin To Affect WAPA and St. Croix

FREDERIKSTED — Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority potable water customers in some areas of St. Croix are experiencing low water pressure this morning.

WAPA said the problem is a result of diminished capacity at its Mountain storage tank.

Water Distribution crews have been deployed to determine the cause of the reduced storage capacity and resolve the issue. Affected areas include: Frederiksted, Calquohoun and Mars Hill.
