Four Shot, Two Dead After Gunfire Erupts At Mi Bloque VI Disco Sunday Night

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Three men and one woman were shot — and two of them are dead after gunfire erupted at a St. Thomas disco late Sunday night, authorities said.

A concerned citizen called 911 and reported multiple shots fired at Mi Bloque VI located in Altona & Welgunst about 11:02 p.m. Sunday. The caller added that one person was shot in the chest, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

When police arrived on the scene they found “two unresponsive Hispanic males lying on the floor inside of the establishment,” according to the VIPD.

“EMS arrived on the scene and found no vital signs,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.

A police preliminary investigation revealed that two other people were shot in the same incident — one was male and one was female. Each victim was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center and is being treated for the injuries sustained from the gunshots.

The names of the men who died are being withheld by police pending notification of next of kin, according to Dratte.

The incident is currently under active investigation by the Major Crime Unit.
