Waste Haulers Advised That Bovoni Landfill Will Not Take Scrap Metal Until June

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Padvises said that scrap metal collection at the Bovoni Landfill is on hold effective immediately, as the refuse site is over capacity in its scrap metal area and cannot accept any additional metal at this time.

In the interim maintenance of the scrap metal area will take place, according to VIWMA/

“This will help to maintain a well-organized and safer environment,” VIWMA said.

The Authority will resume accepting scrap metal on Monday, June 3.

VIWMA said that it “continues to work diligently to provide reliable services and would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation.”
