Two Masked Armed Robbers Take $2,000 From Exquisite Barber Shop & Bar Saturday

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two armed masked men robbed a barber shop-bar on St. Thomas at the Vitraco Mall early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched patrol officers from the Richard Callwood Command to the Exquisite Barber Shop and Bar in Charlotte Amalie about 3:53 a.m. Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau were also notified and responded.

“Upon arrival to Exquiste contact was made with the victims who stated while closing the business, two masked men entered the business each armed with a gun,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “The victims continued that after entering the business one of the suspects went to the cash register emptied same, took monies from the business book and then searched their purses taking approximately $2,000.00 dollars from both the registers and them.”

This case is currently under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).
