73-Year-Old St. Croix Man Accused Of Rape Of 11-Year-Old Girl In His Household

FREDERIKSTED — A 73-year-old St. Croix man is facing charges in connection with the rape of an 11-year-old girl in his household, authorities said.

Verrol Harrington of Estate Coble was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Monday and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree aggravated rape and first-degree unlawful sexual contact, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The alleged incident, the police blotter noted, occurred in July.

Harrington was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections.

No bail was granted as per the domestic violence law.
