Police Investigating Shots Fired By Man In White Pickup Truck In Peter’s Rest

CHRISTIANSTED — Police are investigating an incident in Peter’s Rest where a St. Croix man threatened to brandish a weapon and then came back and fired shots into the air. No injuries were reported.

On December 16 at approximately 9:42 p.m., a concerned citizen reported that an unknown male driving a white truck discharged a firearm in the Peter’s Rest area, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Police interviewed witnesses who said that a man who may have been drinking had threatened to point a gun at them,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The suspect left the area in a vehicle, but returned later, fired several shots in the air before driving away.”

This case is presently under investigation.
