Motorists Asked To Look Out For Runners and Walkers On Saturday Morning: VIPD

CHRISTIANSTED — The Virgin Islands Police Department is advising the motoring public of two scheduled activities that will have pedestrians on the roadways tomorrow.

The St. Croix 50K Marathon will take place from downtown Christiansted, head west on Northside Road, and head back into downtown Christiansted. The race is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. Saturday

The Lion’s Club will be hosting a walk in the Peter’s Rest area, starting from the St. Croix Majorettes Headquarters. This event is also scheduled to begin at 6 a.m.

“Motorists are asked to be mindful of the runners and walkers traversing the roadways during these events,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
