St. Croix Man Survives Being Shot Multiple Times In Sion Farm On Wednesday Night

CHRISTIANSTED — An assassination on St. Croix didn’t work out as gunmen planned.

Despite being shot multiple times on Wednesday night, a Sion Farm man survived.

But nearby Sion Farm homes and three vehicles in the neighborhood where at least 70 rounds of ammunition were fired, were part of the collateral damage of the shooting … to say nothing about the rattled nerves of homeowners in the area.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots being fired in Sion Farm about 9:51 p.m. on Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

While traveling to the scene, officers received word that a gunshot victim was being transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by a private vehicle, according to the VIPD.

“Officers arrived to the hospital and learned that the victim at the hospital was being treated for multiple gunshot wounds, and that the vehicle that transported him to the hospital was also impacted by gunshots,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The unidentified shooting victim remains in stable condition, authorities said.

This case is currently under active investigation.
