Detectives Find Missing St. Thomas Woman Safe And Sound At Shopping Mall

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas woman missing for four days was found by police safe and sound at a local shopping mall on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Detectives were notified that Kamifa Lawrence was seen in the area of Kmart Lockhart Gardens about 4:50 p.m. Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The 22-year-old Lawrence had been missing since March 2, according to the VIPD.

“Detectives and a family member of Lawrence traveled to the area and made contact with her,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “Lawrence appeared to be in good health, and she stated that she was fine.”

Published reports said the woman has been missing since February 21.

Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center is located on the Weymouth Rhymer Highway in Charlotte Amalie.

The VIPD said that it “would like to thank the community for assisting in locating Lawrence.”

“Please remember that if you see something, say something,” Derima said.
