CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man wanted for allegedly choking his girlfriend during a fight voluntarily surrendered to police, authorities said.

Dylan Steven, 25 of Estate Hope was arrested at 4:18 p.m. Thursday and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Investigation revealed that Steven strangled his intimate partner during an altercation on March 7,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Steven turned himself in to police after learning that a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to Derima.

No bail was set for Steven, in accordance to local domestic violence laws, pending an initial court appearance and advice of rights.
