Jose A. Garcia, Jr., 28 of Hospital Ground was arrested at 6:15 a.m. Monday and charged with simple assault-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The victim reported that she was assaulted by Garcia, who is her daughter’s father, at the bus stop at Nisky Center,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “Garcia struck the victim in the face with a closed fist, causing injuries.”

The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Hospital via ambulance for her injuries, according to the VIPD.
