Home Invader Takes Cash, Docs From Anna’s Retreat Home On Saturday: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Some Anna’s Retreat residents reported that “money and documents” were stolen by a home invader who fled the scene when he realized someone was home at the time of the burglary.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Anna’s Retreat regarding a residential burglary about 11:04 p.m. on Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said..

“Investigation revealed that an unknown black male entered the residence by entering though a sliding glass door,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “When the suspect realized that the residents were home, he fled through the same door in an unknown direction.”

The suspect stole money and documents from the home, according to Derima.

Police are asking for the community’s assistance in solving this crime.

Any persons having information regarding this incident are asked to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5608, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
