Police Investigate Road Rage Incident Where Shots Were Fired At Vehicle: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas resident reported to police that they were a victim of a road rage shooting, authorities said. No one was injured in the shooting, but two cars were damaged.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Market Square, Charlotte Amalie on a report of shots fired about 8:25 a.m. Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Investigation revealed that an unknown person fired shots at the victim in what appears to be a case of road rage,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim’s vehicle was impacted by gunshots, as well as a parked vehicle in the vicinity.”

This case is classified as a third-degree assault incident, according to the VIPD.

It is currently under active investigation.
