St. Thomas Woman Caught On Video Surveillance Removing Firearm From Crime Scene Arrested: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas woman captured on video surveillance removing a hidden firearm from a restaurant crime scene was arrested by police on Friday night, authorities said.

Desiree Brown, 37, of Estate Pearl, was arrested at 8:10 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, accessory after the fact, misprision of felony, concealment of evidence, and compounding crime, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Brown was viewed on surveillance removing a hidden firearm used in a disturbance at a local restaurant in Contant on July 29,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Bail for Brown was set at $50,000. Unable to post bail, she was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
