Police Need Your Help To Find Allen ‘Buckwheat’ Samuel, Wanted On Assault Charge: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police were able to put a St. Thomas man wanted for assault and use of a dangerous weapon into official custody tonight.

Allen “Buckwheat” Samuel, 46, of Altona, was wanted for questioning in connection to a throat-slashing incident in Contant this morning, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The VIPD announced on Twitter at 10:55 p.m. today that Samuel had been detained by police.

“Double checking to see if he was booked,” the VIPD replied to the V.I. Free Press on Twitter. “He is in custody tonight.”

The VIPD had warned that Samuel was considered dangerous and you are advised not to approach him if you were to see him.

Rather, the VIPD advised that you call police immediately at 911 and keep a safe distance away from Samuel when you do.

The VIPD tweeted that Samuel was wanted for attempted murder and first-degree assault on Twitter at 9:43 a.m. today.

“If seen, Call 911,” the VIPD wrote on Twitter. “Press Release to follow. Let’s get him off the streets.”

No further information was available on Allen “Buckwheat” Samuel.
