4 Men In Clown Masks Shoot St. Croix Man In Gallows Bay Business District On Sunday

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man was shot after a silver sedan with four men wearing clown masks drove-up to him and opened fire on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to a discharging of shots in the Gallows Bay business district at 5:07 p.m. Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Officers traveled to the area and found a Black male with a gunshot injury, according to the VIPD.

The injured man was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower torso, and later released, police said.

“The investigation into this incident revealed that a silver four-door Suzuki sedan, which was occupied by four male individuals wearing clown masks, drove up on the victim and fired multiple shots at him,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
