Earthquakes Rattle St. John, Tortola, Puerto Rico And St. Kitts On Sunday: USGS

CRUZ BAY — Minor earthquakes rattled four islands in the Caribbean on Sunday evening, including St. John and Puerto Rico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, (USGS) and the UWI Seismic Unit.

The USGS reported that a 5.4 quake was recorded 47 miles east of Cruz Bay, St. John and 5.2 magnitude quake was reported 43 miles southeast of Road Town in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

The UWI Seismic Unit reported that a quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale rattled Puerto Rico and St. Kitts & Nevis.

That quake occurred at 7:21 pm local time, 108 miles northweest of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis and one struck 119 miles east of Fajardo, Puerto Rico and 130 miles east of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

No damage or injuries were reported.
