Greedy Burglars Tie Up 80-Year-Old Woman With Duct Tape In Search For More Cash After Armed Intrusion

KINGSHILL — Greedy burglars tied up an 80-year-old Castle Burke woman with duct tape so the pair of armed home invaders could search her house for more cash early Sunday morning.

Tthe 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Castle Burke in reference to a burglary at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Deepartment said.

The 80-year-old female victim stated after hearing a loud noise in her home, two males wearing masks entered into her bedroom demanding money, according to the VIPD.

“Although the victim gave the suspects cash, they restrained her hands and feet with duct tape and searched the home for more money,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The suspects subsequently left the residence, leaving the victim bound. After eventually freeing herself, she called 911.”

The victim described the two suspects as being about 5 feet 5 inches in height, one with a slim build and the other with a heavy build, wearing all black with black masks and gloves. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, police said.
