Jealous St. Croix Hair Dresser Breaks Into Boyfriend’s Home, Beats Him, Smashes Cell Phone

CHRISTIANSTED — A jealous St. Croix hair dresser who allegedly broke into her boyfriend’s home, beat him and then smashed his cell phone has been arrested on domestic violence-related charges, authorities said.

Rebekah “Becky” Kelly, 25, of Work & Rest, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. Thursday and charged with first-degree burglary-domestic violence; aggravated assault & battery and destruction of property, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Kelly allegedly broke into her boyfriend’s residence, assaulted him, and damaged his property,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Kelly was not offered bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence laws. She was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending her Advice of Rights hearing.

She works in women’s hair care, according to posts she made on Facebook.
