FREDERIKSTED — Police need your help to find an elderly man who has gone missing on St. Croix.
Michael Emmanuel, 80, of St. Lucia, was last seen at 6:45 a.m. Friday at Canebrake Apartments in Mars Hill, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Emmanuel is described as being a black male with a dark brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He stands 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
When Emmanuel left his apartment on Friday morning he was wearing brown-striped pajama pants, a white vest and no shoes, the VIPD said.
Police said he might suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, a form of dementia, and is also known by the nickname “Dodor.”
Michael “Dodor” Emmanuel, is known to frequent the Canebrake Apartments (Mars Hill) and Estate Whim areas of Frederiksted on St. Croix.
“The VIPD Continues to search for Mr. Emmanuel who was last seen on the 19th. Officers conducted across Frederiksted with no results,” Police Commissioner Trevor A. Velinor said. “Tonight, a volunteer group also searched the shoreline In Frederiksted; no positive results. Please call 911 if see him.”
Ironically, Canebrake Apartments is just a few hundred yards away from the VIPD’s main headquarters in Mars Hill.
