FREDERIKSTED — The westbound lanes on Melvin Evans Highway from the West Airport Intersection to the Williams Delight Intersection will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting this week, DPW said.
“The closure will allow the contractor to begin milling and paving the lanes,” DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said. “This is the fifth segment of this six-phase project.”
The public is asked to avoid these areas and use alternate routes as much as possible during this time, Exius said.
“The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory,” she said.
