St. Croix Man Shot Multiple Times Near Vodka Distillery In Sion Farm Today: VIPD

CHRISTIANSTED — Police are investigating a shooting of an unidentified man that took place near a vodka distillery in Sion Farm late this afternoon, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Sion Farm near the Lew Muckle Elementary School, in reference to a shooting about 5:20 p.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The investigation into the incident revealed a Black male was shot multiple times by an unknown gunman in the field adjacent from the school,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

As evidenced by a number of police and other emergency vehicles gathered at the crime scene late this afternoon, the shooting took place in front of the entrance to Mutiny Vodka in Estate Sion Farm.

The victim was transported to the Juan Francisco Luis Hospital & Medical Center via ambulance for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition, Derima said.
