Police Investigating Body Of Atlanta Jet Ski Rider Found On St. Thomas Beach

CHARLOTTE AMALIE —  Virgin Islands Police say they are now investigating a possible drowning after a Georgia woman’s body was discovered on a St. Thomas beach on Monday afternoon.

VIPD officers were dispatched to Coki Point beach regarding the incident around 2:02 p.m. Monday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Officers traveled to the area and found an unresponsive female on the beach,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Danielle Marie Lipkins, 24, of Atlanta, was positively identified as the victim, Derima said.

Derima said Lipkins was riding a personal water craft (PWC) with another female and fell off several times.

Lipkins told the woman on the water craft that she wasn’t feeling too well, the spokesman said.

She was transported via ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where she was subsequently pronounced dead by the Emergency Room physician on duty.

On social media, Lipkins said she was an office coordinator for the Wellstar Health System in Kennesaw, Georgia.

The cause of death is unknown at this time, pending an autopsy. The investigation into this incident continues.
