Annas Retreat Man Wanted For Attempted Murder Surrenders To Authorities: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Police Department is no longer searching for a 53-year-old St. Thomas man wanted for attempted murder.

The VIPD said Adala Donastorg, of Annas Retreat, surrendered to authorities without incident on Friday April 30 about 1:30 p.m.

“Donastorg allegedly struck his roommate with a knife during an altercation, causing injuries that required medical attention,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Donastorg was jailed without bail pending an advice-of-rights hearing, according to Derima.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to notify police by calling 911, the Domestic Violence Unit at (340) 774-2211 extension 5534, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
