Southwell surrendered to police without incident at the Police Operations Building at 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted where he was advised of his Miranda Rights in the presence of his attorney, according to the VIPD.

“Mr. Southwell Jr. was wanted for strangling and causing visible injuries to an adult female on August 28, 2022,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

After the suspect declined to give a statement, he was processed, booked and arrested, according to Dratte.

Superior Court Judge Jomo Meade released Southwell into his father’s custody, police said.

Judge Meade placed him under house arrest and no bail was set pending his advice-of-rights hearing.
