St. Croix Hospital Admits Patient ‘Left Outside’ Unattended ‘For A Long Time’

CHRISTIANSTED — The Juan F. Luis Hospital administration admitted in a prepared statement tonight “that a patient was allegedly left outside of the ED hospital without being attended for an extended amount of time.”

“The patient was attended to by JFL caregivers after being transported to JFL from another facility on island,” the St. Croix medical facility said in a Facebook post. “The patient was evaluated by JFL caregivers in an appropriate timeframe and released in care of family. Specifics of the patient’s health are kept confidential, to protect patient rights, and will not be released.”

Newly installed JFL Hospital CEO Douglas Koch did not publicly comment on the matter.

The current condition of the patient was not made clear in the JFL Hospital information dump.
