2 Men Under Investigation For Stealing From Self Storage Murdered A Month Apart

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two St. Thomas men under investigation for grand larceny in connection to a grand larceny at a self-storage business in August have been murdered in the last two months.

Bradley “Hurtie” Maxwell, 44, of St. Thomas was the first to die when he was shot to death on St. Croix December 29, 2022, the Virgin Islands Police Department said previously.

Chandler “Frenchy” Heath, 37,of Grandview Apartments, was the second man arrested in connection to the grand larceny — and also was the second person to be shot dead on January 29, 2023.

Maxwell, a convicted murderer, was arrested on August 22 and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, compounding crime and aiding & abetting, according to the VIPD.

Heath, who owned a towing company, was arrested August 23 and charged with conspiracy to commit grand larceny, grand larceny, obtaining money by false pretense, police said. 

“The investigation revealed that Bradley Maxwell assisted in the unlawful possession of resold property belonging to Storage on Site, LLC,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said at the time.
