WAPA workers battle cops, utility says

CHRISTIANSTED — Authorities are investigating after Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority employees skirmished with Virgin Islands Police on St. Croix today.

VAPA said it “is addressing an ongoing situation where some of our employees were reportedly involved in an incident with law enforcement this morning on St. Croix.”

“Please be assured that the safety of our employees is our utmost concern,” WAPA CEO Andrew Smith said today.
